3kg Diatomaceous Earth (or DE - Codex Food Grade Also Called Fossil Shell Flower) - Natural Anti-Parasite (Internal & External) Food Supplement

usually ships within 24 hours

Product Description

Natural diatomaceous earth is a natural parasite killer and is excellent for internal and external natural parasite control in horses, dogs, chickens, cats and many other animals. Use Diatomaceous Earth for control of worm, worm eggs, cockroaches, silverfish, ants, bedbugs, flies, fleas, box elder bugs, scorpions, crickets, and many others. Diatomaceous Earth can be used in and around the home, yard, animal housing, etc.

Feeding diatomaceous earth daily to stock, lowers manure odour thereby attracting fewer flies and keeps fly larvae from developing in manure, noticeably reducing the fly population. Food grade DE is reported to kill 75% of flies, fleas and mites (and their eggs)  that come in contact with it within 72 hours. Diatomaceous earth is a drying agent and thus reduces odor and moisture in horse barns and stalls, again helping to reduce fly and other parasite populations.

Diatomaceous earth is great for internal worming and parasite removal for everyone: humans, horses, livestock, and pets. Diatomaceous earth helps detox heavy metals. Add food grade diatomaceous earth to horse waterers, it helps prevent algae from growing so quickly in the hot summer months. Use for at least 1 month continuously prior to reducing dose.

All Diatomaceous earth is NOT the same. Our Diatomaceous Earth comes from an extremely pure fresh water AND IS FOOD GRADE - deposit of the diatom Melosira Preicelanica. Why is this diatom so special? Its shell is made of amorphous silica. Its shape and hardness are important to how it works. Its hardness keeps it from dissolving in liquid.

Why fresh water vs. salt water DE? Fresh water deposits like ours have a consistent diatom presence. Their fossilized shells have maintained their tubular shape. This shape and strength of the fossil shell is critical to its effectiveness. Our deposit has 89 - 95 percent amorphous silica content. This deposit is also more consistent in its purity of other elements that have settled in it. A fresh water deposit is confined to the run off water of its surrounding environment. A fresh water deposit in the mountains, such as ours, formed when snow was pure and its run off provided the water source these diatoms lived in. Salt water deposits contain a mix of types of diatoms of different shapes. Their fossilized shells are fragile and break easily. This renders them ineffective for our purposes. The salt water deposits are less predictable in their sediments.

What's the difference between amorphous and crystalline silica? Amorphous silica is silica in its natural occurring state. It is a trace mineral every mammal on the planet needs to live. It becomes crystalline when it is exposed to extreme heat through volcanic activity or commercial manufacturing means. The type of diatomaceous earth used in swimming pool, and other, filtration systems is crystalline silica. Crystalline silica is extremely dangerous when inhaled or ingested. It is not biodegradable.
